Sunny’s Splashland started small. In the summer of 1970, we were a neighborhood swimming park with one pool, a snack window, and a lifeguard chair painted sunshine yellow. The families who spent those first summers with us kept coming back — and they brought their kids, and then their kids brought theirs.
Today, Splashland is a full-grown family waterpark with twisting slides, a rolling wave pool, a lazy river that never seems to be in a hurry, and enough frozen lemonade to get anyone through an August afternoon. What hasn’t changed is the feeling: music on the breeze, sunscreen in the air, and a whole day where the biggest decision is which slide to ride next.

Signature Ride
The one you can see from the parking lot
Our signature twisting waterslide, and the tallest thing at Splashland besides the lifeguards’ expectations. Climb six stories above the park, catch the view, then race through a corkscrew of colorful enclosed turns before splashing down into the landing pool. Riders have been daring each other up that staircase since 1978 — and the walk back up never gets old.
Blink and it’s over. Scream and it isn’t.
A faster, steeper body slide for guests who thought The Vortex was a warm-up. One deep breath at the top, one very committed drop, and a finish that sends up a wall of spray your friends will hear from the lazy river.
Four seats. Zero dry passengers.
Load the whole crew into a round raft and take on a winding course of turns, dips, and rainbow-striped tunnels. Everyone swears a different seat gets the wettest, and everyone is right. The unofficial family favorite since 2008.
Officially: a quarter mile. Unofficially: all afternoon.
Grab a tube and drift beneath palm shade and misting bridges on our slow-rolling lazy river. It winds past most of the park, which makes it either a scenic tour or a very relaxed way to avoid your next turn on Paradise Plunge.
Big fun, twelve inches deep
A splashy kingdom built just for our smallest guests: shallow water, mini slides sized for first-timers, friendly fountains, and the famous tipping sun bucket that soaks the whole lagoon every few minutes. Grown-ups get shaded seating with clear sightlines to everything.

Half a million gallons of rolling, gentle waves — a shallow shoreline for waders, deeper water for confident swimmers, and rows of lounge chairs close enough to keep an eye on everybody. When the wave horn sounds, you’ll know where the whole park is headed.

Sunny’s Splashland opens as a community swimming park: one big pool, a shady lawn, a snack window, and admission that cost less than a gallon of gas. Families from the neighborhood make it their summer living room.
The park adds its first major waterslide — the original Vortex. Local kids spend the whole summer perfecting their splash form, and the line becomes the best place in town to make a new friend.
The Splashdown Wave Pool opens, and suddenly a beach day doesn’t require a beach. The first wave horn sounds on Memorial Day weekend and has been part of the park’s soundtrack ever since.
A whole corner of the park is rebuilt just for young children. Little Rays Lagoon welcomes its first tiny swimmers — many of whom now bring swimmers of their own.
The park completes its largest expansion: Rainbow Rapids, a longer Sunshine River, new shaded pavilions, and a proper home for birthday parties and group outings.

Children 2 and under are always free.
Parking is free in our main lot, with accessible spaces near the gate and overflow parking on peak Saturdays. Rideshare drop-off is right at the entrance plaza. Gates open 30 minutes before the park does — early birds get first pick of the lounge chairs.
All-day lockers rent from $12 in three sizes near the front gate and wave pool. Private cabanas — with shade, chairs, a mini-fridge, and your own server — start at $99 and book out fast on weekends. Reserve when you buy tickets.
Splashland is proud to welcome every guest. We offer accessible parking, zero-entry pools, water wheelchairs at Guest Services, companion restrooms, and a quiet room near First Aid. Pop-up shower? We pause slides during lightning and reopen 30 minutes after the last strike. If weather closes the park for more than half your day, we’ll swap your tickets for a return visit — no forms, no fuss. Rain checks are honored all season.

Outside food and coolers stay in the car, with two big exceptions: baby food/formula and food for medical or allergy needs are always welcome — just mention them at the gate. Sealed water bottles are fine, and free refill stations are located throughout the park. Feeling picnic-y? Hand stamps let you lunch at your car and come right back in.
Yes — free of charge, all day, in sizes from infant to adult, at racks near every major pool. Only U.S. Coast Guard–approved vests are permitted in the water (ours are, and yours from home is welcome if it’s labeled). Water wings and inflatable toys can’t be used in the deep areas, but they’re fine at Little Rays Lagoon.
Light rain? We keep swimming — you’re already wet. At the first sign of lightning, we clear the water and pause slides, reopening 30 minutes after the last strike. If weather closes the park for more than half of your visit, your tickets automatically convert to rain checks good for any day this season. No paperwork needed.
Yes — all-day rental lockers in three sizes sit near the front gate and beside the wave pool, starting at $12. They lock and unlock as many times as you like, so you can grab sunscreen without paying twice. Family-size lockers fit a surprising number of flip-flops.
Absolutely. Any unused single-day ticket can be moved to another day this season — change it online or at the gate, no fees. Plans changed completely? Unused tickets keep their full value toward a future visit or a season pass upgrade.
We work hard to make sure every guest gets a great day: accessible parking and routes, zero-entry pools, water wheelchairs at no charge, companion restrooms, and a quiet room near First Aid. Little Rays Lagoon was built exactly for them: twelve inches deep, mini slides, friendly fountains, and the famous tipping bucket. Add the shallow shoreline of the wave pool and a family float on the Sunshine River, and small swimmers have a full day. Swim diapers are required for non-potty-trained guests and are sold at the Splash Shop.
Yes! Get a hand stamp on your way out and show it with your ticket to re-enter the same day. Lots of families duck out for a car nap or a birthday cake and come back for the evening swim — it’s a time-honored Splashland move.
Bring your own if you can (one per swimmer is the veteran move), or rent fresh towels at the front gate for $5 with a full refund when returned. The Splash Shop also sells big fluffy Sunny beach towels that make excellent souvenirs.
The Vortex and Paradise Plunge require 48″. Rainbow Rapids welcomes riders 36″ and up with an adult in the raft. The Sunshine River and wave pool are open to all heights, with guests under 48″ wearing a life vest and accompanied by an adult. Little Rays Lagoon is reserved for guests under 48″. Measuring stations at the front gate hand out color-coded wristbands so you only measure once.
Pick a date, pick a package, and we handle the rest: park admission for your group, a reserved shaded pavilion for two hours, pizza and drinks, and a gift for the birthday kid. Add-ons include a visit from Sunny, extra pizzas, and a cabana upgrade. Book at least a week ahead through the Groups & Parties form — summer weekends fill fast.
Sunny keeps a busy schedule: front-gate greetings in the morning, a wave pool countdown at noon, and an afternoon lap of the lazy river (waving, not floating — suns are buoyant but cautious).
